For over 20 lakh medical aspirants across India, the NEET 2026 admit card is far more than a piece of paper — it is the single most critical document standing between months of preparation and walking into the examination hall. Without it, no candidate, regardless of how well-prepared they are, will be permitted to sit for the exam.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as a common and uniform entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS courses.
The NEET exam is scheduled for May 3, 2026, and will be held offline from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The NEET admit card 2026 will be released by the end of April 2026.
This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know — from the expected admit card release date and step-by-step download instructions, to what details appear on the hall ticket, exam day rules, common errors, and answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Once the admit card is live, NTA notifies candidates through multiple channels:

Do not rely solely on email or SMS. Always download the latest version directly from the official website, as it is the most authoritative copy.
Before the admit card, NTA releases a City Intimation Slip. The NEET exam city slip will be released around 10 days before the exam. Students get to know the allotted exam city through the city intimation slip. The NEET exam centre will be located at the allotted city. This is an important planning tool. The city intimation slip, tentatively expected by the third or fourth week of April 2026, will inform candidates about the city in which their exam centre will be located, allowing them sufficient time to make travel and accommodation arrangements in advance.
