JEE Advanced 2024: JEE Advanced is an important exam for students seeking admission to engineering colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the joint guidance of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

JEE Advanced is a two-stage entrance examination. The first stage is JEE Main, conducted by the NTA. Candidates who qualify in JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

    JEE Advanced is considered one of the toughest exams in the world. The exam tests a candidate’s understanding of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to the IITs.

    IITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. They offer courses in various engineering disciplines such as computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, etc.

    JEE Advanced is held every year in the month of May. The exam is conducted in two phases – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates must attempt both the papers in order to be eligible for admission.

    The JEE Advanced exam date for 2024 has not been announced yet. However, we can expect the exam to be held in May 2024. The exact date and other details will be announced on the official website of the exam (jeeadv.ac.in) closer to the exam date.

    JEE Advanced is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The duration of the exam is 3 hours. Candidates are required to attempt a total of 54 questions in the exam.

    The exam is divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section has 18 questions. Candidates are required to attempt all the questions in each section.

    The marking scheme of JEE Advanced is +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.

    The cut-off marks for JEE Advanced are decided by the IITs. The cut-off marks vary from year to year and from institute to institute.

    Candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to the IITs. Admission to IITs is based on merit.

    Candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced must participate in the counselling process conducted by the JoSAA. Counselling is done on the basis of the ranks obtained in JEE Advanced.

    The counselling process includes seat allocation, document verification and admission to IIT.
