JEE Advanced result is declared in absolute marks — not percentile.
This is a key difference from JEE Main, which uses percentile scores. In JEE Advanced:
The rank list is prepared based on aggregate total marks from both Paper 1 and Paper 2 combined.
| Subject | Calculation |
| Physics Total | Physics score in Paper 1 + Physics score in Paper 2 |
| Chemistry Total | Chemistry score in Paper 1 + Chemistry score in Paper 2 |
| Mathematics Total | Mathematics score in Paper 1 + Mathematics score in Paper 2 |
| Aggregate Total | Physics total + Chemistry total + Mathematics total (out of 360) |
Candidates who did not appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are not included in any rank list — there are no exceptions.

When two or more candidates score identical aggregate marks:
To appear on the JEE Advanced 2026 rank list, two conditions must be cleared simultaneously. Clearing only the total is not enough.
Condition 1: Clear subject-wise minimum marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics Condition 2: Clear overall minimum aggregate marks
| Category | Min. Per Subject (%) | Min. Total (%) | Approx. Marks (out of 360) |
| General / CRL | ~8.7% | ~28–30% | ~100–109 marks |
| OBC-NCL | ~7.8% | ~27.3% | ~98 marks |
| GEN-EWS | ~7.8% | ~27.3% | ~98 marks |

| Document | Requirement |
| JEE Advanced 2026 Scorecard | Download from jeeadv.ac.in on June 1 |
| JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card | For identity verification |
