What is MahaDBT?
The full form of Mahadbt is Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer. It is a government portal in Maharashtra, India, that allows the citizens of India to access various government schemes and benefits, such as financial assistance AND scholarships, efficiently and transparently. Peoples can register on the portal, apply for the benefits, also track the status of their applications, and then receive payments directly into their bank accounts.

Mahadbt portal covers several scholarship schemes for the candidates from the different categories, such as SC/ST/OBC, economically backward classes, minority, etc. candidates can apply for the scholarships based on their eligibility and also track the status of their application online.
To apply for a scholarship through the Mahadbt Scholarship Portal, candidates must create an account and fill in the required details, including academic, personal, and financial information. Mahadbt portal provides a facility for the document upload and verification. Once the mahadbt scholarship application is submitted, then it is processed by the concerned authority, and the candidates are notified of the status of their application.
MahaDBT portal was under the Aaple Sarkar portal but then later became an independent portal for the scholarships.
There are 16 schemes, that divided into 45, according to the various benefits depending on the student’s caste, religion and economic status.

You will not receive any scholarship benefits, or you can be hailed for not submitting a scholarship and also have to bear extra fees. First-time applicants need to register themselves with the portal. The process is as follows:
- The candidates must visit the Aaple Sarkar DBT portal at MahaDBT.
- Click on “New Applicant Registration”
- Aadhar details will need to be furnished to proceed with the registration
- The applicant must also select a biometric or OTP authentication method.
- In the case of OTP verification, the applicant’s mobile number is used, provided it must be linked with the Aadhar card. The Biometric verification process must be chosen if the applicant’s mobile number is not registered.
By clicking “Apply,” candidates can select the scholarship they are interested in and provide relevant information in the application form. To apply, supporting documents must be uploaded, and all details must be cross-verified.

- Click on the ‘New Applicant Registration’ link.
- Enter your Aadhar card number.
- You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP to verify and proceed. Your registered details will appear.
- If you don’t have an Aadhar card, you will need to fill in all the details manually.
- Create a username and password for the MahaDBT scholarship 2024-25.
- Verify your mobile number and password.
