    NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION

    NTSE / National Talent Search Examination is a national level exam organized by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It grants scholarships to exemplary students in class 10th. NTSE is only held for 10th standard students and the exam is organized in two different stages – Stage I and II.

    The first stage exam is a state-level exam and is regulated by all the Indian states and UTs. NTSE stage II is conducted for those students who clear the first stage. Only those who pass in NTSE stage I will be qualified to write the Stage II exam. The reason for organizing NTSE is to reward scholarships to capable candidates who want to pursue higher education in the field of Science / Social Studies. NTSE scholarship is awarded on the basis of the overall performance of students in both stages of the examination.

    The students must have lucidity regarding the exam pattern for better preparation. The NTSE is conducted in Stage I and Stage II. The NTSE paper is conducted in both Hindi and English medium. The paper is divided into two sections i.e. Mental Ability Test (MAT), and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).

    • The paper consists of Objective type and multiple-choice questions.
    • The examination is conducted through offline mode only.
    • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be given and there is no negative marking at stage 1 and stage 2.
    • Reserved category candidates have to attain 32% marks to qualify for the test, general category candidates have to attain 40% marks to qualify the exam.

    NTSE Syllabus For Scholastic Ability Test (SAT)

    The SAT has two parts – Language Test, Science, Social science & Maths. The SAT tests students for their academic knowledge, reading skills, application skills, etc. The syllabus for SAT are tabulated below:
