    Assessments are conducted at two levels each year: NTSE Stage 1 (Regional Level) and Phase 2 (National Level). Phase 1 is run by provinces, and Phase 2 is run by NCERT. NTSE Stage I 2021 was conducted in December 2020 and the NTSE Stage 2 paper is expected to be completed in October 2021. Only students who have completed the Phase 1 examination are eligible to appear on the NTSE Stage 2. NTSE 2022 application form has been issued in all provinces and territories. . NTSE 2022 application forms have been issued in Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, HP, Meghalaya, and other provinces. NTSE registration is available online and offline.

    Students who have canceled NTSE Stage 1 are automatically eligible to enter phase 2 and will not need to re-apply for phase 2 examination. Indian students studying abroad will be required to complete a separate application form for stage 2 examination.

    • Eligible Marks: 40% for Standard Phase students and 32% for ST, SC and PWD students (in both papers).
    • There are no negative markings for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
    • Candidates who will be eligible for both Paper-1 and Paper-2 respectively will only be considered eligible.
    • The nomination of a prize will be based on the proceeds from both Papers.
    • There will be no language test paper.
    • Candidates must report by 9:00 am to the examination center.

    NTSE Stage 2 Syllabus

    • Psychological Testing (MAT)
      The MAT section of the NTSE Phase 2 exam will contain questions from a variety of topics such as series, similes, thinking, problem solving, math, classification, coding, etc. This section focuses on the learner’s ability to solve problems and to negotiate.
    • School Skills Assessment (SAT)
      This section will cover questions from Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences (Geography, Political Science, History, and Economics).

    Qualifications for Phase 2 of the NTSE

    Students who pass the NTSE phase 1 examination in their home country are eligible to take the NTSE phase 2 examination.

    Every district publishes a list of students who have passed the national level of phase 2 examinations.
    Foreign nationals are eligible to apply directly for stage 2 testing. They are not included in the first phase of the examination. They must obtain at least 60% of their previous examinations, ie Grade 9.
    After obtaining an NTSE Scholarship, such individuals should aim to pursue their higher education in India only.

    When will the first phase of NTSE 2022 be held?

    The first phase of NTSE 2022 will take place on January 15 and 16, 2022. The NTSE 2022 test will be conducted in offline mode at provincial / UT designated testing centers only.

    When will the results of NTSE 2021 phase 2 be released?

    The final results of the NTSE 2021 are expected in January / February 2022. Due to the postponement of phase 2 testing during COVID-19, the publication of results was postponed last year.

    How many students are selected in the first phase of the assessment?

    In the Stage 1 test, approximately 8500 candidates were selected to take the Stage 2 test.
