    NCERT

Believe it or not, there are no books better than NCERT 11th and NCERT 12th for NEET Preparation. If you’re thinking of starting your preparations, start by reading the NCERTs of class 11th and 12th. This applies to all the subjects of the NEET examination, i.e., physics, chemistry, and biology. Mark the chapters included in the NEET syllabus and read them line by line without Missing any graph, diagram, footnotes, or summary. If you have learned NCERT books by heart, most of your work is done.

In NEET paper, there are always some questions that are beyond the scope of NCERT books. To attempt these questions, you will need the help of some reference books. A brief description of the best reference books for physics, chemistry, and biology for NEET preparation is given here.

    Physics

If you have already covered NCERT physics for class 11 and NCERT Physics for class 12, you’re ready to stretch your boundaries. In reference books either opt for NEET objective physics by DC Pandey or phyNEET by B.L. Sharma. There is no need to read both as their question patterns and concepts presented are quite similar. These books are even favoured by the toppers for NEET Preparation. The questions are at par with the NEET examination so your chances of scoring good marks in the physics section will increase.

    Chemistry

Although NCERT Solutions Chemistry and NCERT Exemplar Solutions of chemistry are considered enough for NEET Preparation, if you still have enough time at your disposal, you can either refer to N. Awasthi for physical chemistry and M.S. Chauhan for organic chemistry or you can opt for a one-stop solution which is MTG’s Chemistry at your fingertips. It is the best book for quick revisions and has a beautiful collection of high-order thinking skill questions and diagram-based questions which are not very abundant in other books.

    Biology

It is the most scoring section of the NEET examination and certainly, you won’t want to leave any stones unturned to score better in this section. Although NCERT biology is a treasure of knowledge and there is hardly anything missed in the book, you can always complement your preparations. MTG biology at your fingertips and Truman’s biology volume 1 and 2 are the topper’s favourite for this purpose. Although lay your hands on Truman only if you have at least one year’s time left for the examination.

In addition to the above-suggested books, it is always a good idea to solve as many previous year question (PYQ) papers as you can. You can also go through the study modules of some reliable coaching institutes and solve their questions to give an extra edge to your preparation. Revise NCERT multiple times and go through every question and example as many questions in the chemistry and biology section are directly asked from NCERT and NCERT Exemplar Solutions.

    Conclusion

To cover the entire syllabus comprehensively, it is necessary to keep the list of your books and study materials short and simple. Surrounding yourself with a sea of books is not going to help you score spectacular marks. Instead, reading one or two books to cover the entire syllabus is better than mastering only a few chapters by jumping from one book to another.
