When is NEET 2023?

When is NEET 2023: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level entrance examination for all medical colleges across the country. The examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam offers admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, Ayush & AIIMS courses.

The NEET was introduced in 2013, replacing the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and other state-level medical entrance examinations. The NEET is held annually in May.

NEET Exam Date

• The NEET exam for 2023 is scheduled to be held on May 7th, 2023. The examination will be in offline mode (pen and paper).
• The NEET will be the qualifying examination for admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered by all medical colleges in India. A total of 3,26,067 seats are available for admission through the NEET exam in 2023.

Some important information on NEET Exam 2023:

• The NEET will be conducted in 11 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Assamese, Kannada and Urdu, across 2,545 test centres in India.
• The examination will be of 3 hours and consist of 180 multiple-choice questions.
• The NEET exam will have a syllabus based on the 10+2 level. The syllabus will cover Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
• In 2023, the NEET exam will have a negative marking system. For each wrong answer, there will be a deduction of one mark. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
• The NEET exam will be held in offline mode (pen and paper). The answer sheet will be in OMR format. Candidates will have to darken the appropriate bubbles using a black pen.
• The NEET exam will have a total of 720 marks. The qualifying marks for admission to MBBS and BDS courses are 50th percentile for general category candidates, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category candidates and 45th percentile for PwD category candidates.
