What is Jejunum?
- The jejunum is the second part of the small intestine.
- Very little digestion takes place in this part.

- The ileum is the third and the longest part of the small intestine.
- The main function of this part is to absorb the necessary nutrients from the digested food with the help of Villi.

- Villi are the finger-like projections present inside the surface of the small intestine to increase the surface area.

- Villi increase the surface area of the small intestine significantly which aids in the maximum

What is the structure of villi?
- Villi have Microvilli that further increase the surface area.
- Each Villus has a Central Lacteal. A central lacteal is a projection of the lymphatic system.
