If a number m can be expressed as ?2, then m is a Square number. That is, m is the square of n.
For example, 25 = 52.Therefore 25 is the square of 5.
In 52, 5 is the base and 2 is the exponent. It is read as ‘5 raised to 2’ or ‘5 squared’.
What is the square of a negative number?
A square of a number is always non-negative.
For example, (−7)2 = −7 × −7 = 49
