In the previous segment, we learnt about Lines parallel to the same line. In this segment, we will learn Perpendicular transversals.
What is Perpendicular Transversal?
A transversal that cuts two parallel lines at right angles is called a perpendicular transversal.
Perpendicular transversal
Corollary 1: If a transversal is perpendicular to one of the parallel lines, then it is also perpendicular to the other parallel line.
Given:
- Lines a and b are parallel to each other.
- Line c is perpendicular to line a.
- All three lines are coplanar.
