    The NMC has introduced the Syllabus for NEET-UG 2024, which forms the basis for the exam. In the NEET 2024 exam, there will be two parts. Each subject has two sections:

    NEET Exam Pattern 2024: Marking Scheme

    The NEET 2024 exam will have 200 multiple-choice questions, but you only need to answer 180 of them. The exam is worth a total of 720 marks and covers Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from classes 11 and 12.

    There are two sections, A and B. Section A has 35 questions, and Section B has 15 questions, but you only need to answer 10 of them from Section B.

    For each correct answer, you get 4 marks, but you lose 1 mark for each incorrect answer. Remember, once you mark your answers on the NEET OMR sheet, you can’t change them.

    NEET Exam Pattern 2024: Total Marks

    To achieve success in the NEET exam 2024, you’ll need a maximum of 720 marks. This test comprises 180 questions, each carrying 4 marks. There have been recent changes to the NEET format, particularly in Sections A and B.

    1. Section A involves 35 questions, covering Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. Here, you have to answer all the questions and keep in mind that both Sections A and B have negative markings. In total, you can earn 140 marks in Section A since there are 35 questions, each worth 4 marks.
    2. Moving on to Section B, you’ll find 15 questions, and you have the option to attempt any 10 of them. If you answer more than 10 questions, only the first 10 will be considered. You can score a maximum of 40 marks in this section, which is calculated as 10 questions multiplied by 4 marks each.
    3. So, for each subject – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Zoology – you can achieve a maximum score of 140 marks in Section A and an additional 40 marks in Section B, resulting in a total possible score of 180 for each subject. In total, your score for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined will be out of 360 marks.
