Important: After seat allotment in any JoSAA round, you must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee within the deadline — even if you want to upgrade to a better option. Select the 'Float' option (not 'Freeze') to remain eligible for better seats in subsequent rounds while keeping your current seat secure.
The refund policy for IIITs depends on when you withdraw from the seat and whether you have reported to the institute. JoSAA follows a uniform refund policy for the seat acceptance stage; post-reporting refund is governed by UGC guidelines.

UGC Refund Policy: As per UGC guidelines, if a student cancels admission before the last date for admission notified by the university, the institute must refund the full fees minus a processing charge. After this date, only the caution deposit and security money are refundable.
