    What is Scalar quantity?

    A quantity that provides information on only magnitude is a Scalar quantity. It is also called a One-dimensional quantity.

    Speed, mass and temperature are examples of scalar quantity.

    What is Vector quantity?

    A quantity that provides information on both magnitude and direction is a Vector quantity. It is also called a Two-dimensional quantity.

    Velocity, displacement, weight, acceleration, force are examples of vector quantity.

    What is the difference between scalar and vector quantity?

    Scalar quantities are one-dimensional; whereas vector quantities are two-dimensional. A vector quantity is nothing but a scalar quantity having information about the direction of motion.
