Reproductive Phase;
The reproductive phase is the time in a woman’s menstrual cycle when she is able to conceive a child. This phase begins with the onset of ovulation and ends when the woman menstruates. During ovulation, an egg is released from one of the woman’s ovaries and travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus. If the egg is fertilized by a sperm cell, it will implant in the lining of the uterus and the woman will become pregnant. If the egg is not fertilized, it will be expelled from the body along with the uterine lining during menstruation.
Women’s Reproductive Life Cycle- Menstrual Cycle Phases
There are four phases in the menstrual cycle: the follicular phase, the ovulatory phase, the luteal phase, and the menstrual phase.
The follicular phase begins on the first day of your period and ends when you ovulate. During this phase, your body produces estrogen and progesterone. The estrogen stimulates the growth of the follicle in the ovary, which contains the egg. The progesterone prepares the lining of the uterus for a possible pregnancy.
The ovulatory phase begins when the follicle ruptures and releases the egg. This phase lasts for about 24 hours.
The luteal phase begins after the egg is released and lasts until the next period begins. This phase is controlled by the hormone progesterone. Progesterone causes the uterine lining to thicken in case the egg is fertilized. If the egg is not fertilized, the progesterone level drops and the uterine lining is shed, resulting in the menstrual phase.
Menstrual Phase
The menstrual phase is the phase of the menstrual cycle in which the endometrium is shed. It typically begins around day 14 of the cycle and lasts for about 3-5 days. The menstrual phase is marked by the onset of menstruation, which is the bleeding that occurs when the endometrium is shed.
Follicular Phase
The follicular phase is the first stage of the menstrual cycle. This phase begins on the first day of your period and continues until the day before ovulation. The follicular phase is marked by rising levels of estrogen. This phase is responsible for the growth and development of the ovarian follicle.
Ovulation Phase
The ovulation phase is the time in a woman’s menstrual cycle when her ovaries release an egg. This phase usually starts around day 14 of a woman’s cycle and lasts around two days.
Luteal Phase
Defect
A luteal phase defect is a problem with the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. This is the phase after ovulation, when the hormone progesterone is produced. If there is a problem with the luteal phase, the body may not produce enough progesterone. This can lead to problems such as infertility, early miscarriage, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
