About JEE MAINS
The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE MAINS) is a National entrance test conducted at the national level to provide admission to undergraduate courses offered at various public and private institutions in India. The tests are performed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which is also responsible for issuing application forms, admission cards, and announcing results. Every year one million students give the JEE MAINS examination after choosing engineering as their dream field to work in their professional life. JEE MAINS examination is generally conducted two times a year by NTA except for 2021 in which it was conducted four times & 2022 in which it is again going to be conducted 4 times. After a few days of Mains results, the counselling process of JEE MAINS starts to allot seats in premier colleges of the nation like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs etc. Many students face problems during counselling because of a lack of necessary documents required in counselling.
About JoSAA
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) is an authority of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to regulate seat allocation for admissions to over hundreds of institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).However, candidates should keep in mind one important factor, in order to avoid rejection of JEE Main Counselling, they should have a clear idea of the required documentation and other necessary guidelines for JEE Mains Counselling. It is the responsibility of the beneficiaries to meet all the required documentation requirements to secure a seat at NIT (National Institute of Technology), IIIT (Indian Institute of Information Technology), and GFTI (Government Funded Technical Institutes) with the assistance of JEE MAINS Counselling. Qualified students will be eligible for admission to B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch, Integrated MSc courses at leading engineering institutions such as NIT, IIITs, GFTIs with JEE MAINS Counselling after successfully completing the JEE Main exam.
About NITs
The National Institute of Technology (NITs) are independent engineering institutes and were declared nationally important institutions in 2007. The NIT Council is the governing committee of all NITs. Most NITs offer UG courses at both UG and PG levels in various fields of Engineering, Architecture, Management, and Science.There are 31 NITs in India and admission to BTech courses is regulated by the JoSAA advisory process, based on the AIR standard obtained in JEE Main. NIT provides admission to MTech programs based on results obtained in GATE test while the allocation of seats is controlled by CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech / MArch / MPlan / MDes)

Step-by-Step JEE Main Counselling Process
- Students who qualified for JEE Main and gave JEE Advanced are eligible for seats at colleges such as NIT, IIIT, and GFTI.
- Qualified students for JEE Main 2021 must register online and select the college and courses of their choice for the counseling.
- Seat allocation will be done online, based on applicant level, category, availability of seats, and other features.
- After the allocation of seats, applicants will have to report to the institution provided for confirmation of documents and payment of fees.
Step 1: Register online
- Click on the JoSAA link under the official website
- Sign in using JEE Main 2021 Application No., Password, and Security PIN
- Read the instructions carefully and click on the “I Agree” tab.
- Complete the required information on the JoSAA Advisory Form
- Select Announcement and click Submit
- Verify all the details provided and click the “Confirm Registration” button.
Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking
- Choose colleges and programs.
- Candidates can choose to modify / edit / delete their selected choices
- Choice Locking can be done after each JEE Main 2020 Counselling cycle.
Step 3: JoSAA 2021 Assignment of Seats
- The Joint Advisory and Distribution Officer, JoSAA will consider the following factors before allocating the highest seat by candidate selection:
- Student category (Gen., OBC-NCL, SC, etc.)
- All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Main 2021 rank list (s)
- According to an important selection process for candidates in education programs and institutions
- Availability of seats under different categories of seats/seat assignments for which a person is eligible.
Step 4: Seat Payment and Document verification
- Pay fee to receive a seat allotted through Net Banking / Challan.
- All documents will be verified at the reporting building.
- After confirmation of documents and payment of the fee, a provisional admission letter will be issued.
Step 5: Reporting to Dedicated College
The final step in Counselling is reporting to institutions that have been provided certificates and documents on a provided day and time.

JEE Document Verification will be conducted on all seats allocated to participants.Verification will be done after each round.
