    The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) admission entrance exam is one of the tough and very important entrance tests in the country. According to the rules you have to be among the top 3 lakh scorers to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and then you have to clear the JEE Advanced. Also, there is another way of getting admission to IITs.

    The students having 12th passed degree who already enrolled in a BE to BTech course, those students who want to study something further after BTech and who have an interest in design then there is a way to get admission in IITs for all these students and there is no need to clear JEE. The student who wants to study at IITs can also apply through an undergraduate common entrance exam for the design commonly known as the UCEED. The applicant must have to pass class 12 to be eligible to apply for this. The students who pass the UCEED are qualified for the admission of BDes courses at IITs and other institutes. This exam is divided into two parts where the second part consists of the drawing section. Those who wish to apply for the postgraduate (PG) course will have to clear this CEED exam.

    Below given some steps are to get into IIT by clearing the JEE.

    Step 1:

    One is needed to give the JEE mains examination. From 90 questions in the paper, the student has to answer a total of 7 questions. Also, there is no negative allocation for the wrong answers as per the new set of rules.

    Step 2:

    After successfully clearing the JEE mains exam student is eligible to sit for the JEE advanced exam. The candidates who get the cutoff scores as given by NTA in the JEE mains only are shortlisted for this round.

    Step 3:

    After completing the above two steps the student needs to get an All India Rank to be eligible for an IIT application. The students with a minimum of 10% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics only are considered for the ranks.

    Step 4:

    And the last step is to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority common process. The student will be eligible for this process only if they have an All India Rank.
