CSAB 2026 counselling is conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board for admission to vacant and special-category seats in the NIT+ system and other participating technical institutes. CSAB 2026 includes three major counselling processes: CSAB Special Round 2026, CSAB NEUT 2026 and CSAB Supernumerary 2026.
CSAB Special Round 2026 is conducted after JoSAA counselling to fill vacant seats in NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, SPAs and other GFTIs. CSAB NEUT 2026 is conducted for eligible candidates from North-Eastern states and certain Union Territories. CSAB Supernumerary 2026 is conducted for eligible candidates from selected Union Territories for supernumerary seats at specific NITs.
For candidates who did not get a desired seat in JoSAA, missed JoSAA registration, did not receive any allotment, exited JoSAA, withdrew from JoSAA or want to try for vacant NIT+ seats, CSAB Special Round 2026 can be an important admission opportunity.
CSAB stands for Central Seat Allocation Board. It manages seat allocation for specific engineering, architecture and planning admission processes linked to the NIT+ system. The NIT+ system includes NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, SPAs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes.
CSAB counselling is different from JoSAA counselling. JoSAA is the main counselling process for IITs and the NIT+ system, while CSAB is mainly conducted for vacant seats, regional quota seats and supernumerary seats after or outside the regular JoSAA Cutoff.
| CSAB Counselling | Purpose | Eligible Candidates | Admission Basis |
| CSAB Special Round 2026 | Fills vacant seats in the NIT+ system after JoSAA | JEE Main qualified candidates eligible for NIT+ admission | JEE Main 2026 rank |

CSAB Special Round 2026 is conducted to fill vacant seats left in the NIT+ system after JoSAA counselling. These vacancies may arise because of withdrawals, non-reporting, non-payment of fees, document verification issues, seat cancellation, category changes or candidates choosing other admission options.
The CSAB Special Round is important because it gives candidates another chance to get admission to NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, SPAs and other GFTIs. However, CSAB seat allotment depends completely on the official vacancy list. If a branch has no vacancy, there will be no allotment in that branch.

Candidates must satisfy JEE Main 2026 and NIT+ system eligibility conditions to participate in CSAB Special Round 2026. Broadly, the following types of candidates may be eligible, subject to official rules.
| Candidate | Eligibility Situation |
| Candidates who did not register for JoSAA | Can participate if they satisfy NIT+ eligibility |
| Candidates who registered in JoSAA but did not get a seat | Can participate in CSAB Special Round |
| Candidates whose JoSAA seat was cancelled due to non-payment | May participate if allowed by CSAB rules |
| Candidates who exercised EXIT in JoSAA | Can participate as per CSAB conditions |
| Candidates who withdrew from JoSAA | Can participate if eligible |
| Candidates who already have a NIT+ seat through JoSAA | Can participate, but must understand seat cancellation rules |
| Candidates with document verification issues | Eligibility depends on the reason and official rules |
| Candidates whose seat was cancelled due to non-payment of PAF | May participate as per CSAB conditions |
Candidates who already have a JoSAA NIT+ seat should be careful. If they participate in CSAB and get a new seat, their previous retained JoSAA seat may be cancelled as per the official rules.

Fresh registration is required for CSAB Special Round 2026. JoSAA registration alone is not enough for CSAB Special Round participation.
Candidates must visit the official CSAB portal and open the CSAB Special Round 2026 registration link when it becomes active.
Candidates usually need their JEE Main application number, password and other login credentials to access the CSAB portal.
Candidates must complete fresh registration for CSAB Special Round 2026. Personal, academic and category details should be checked carefully.

Candidates must pay the applicable Special Round Enrolment Fee before the deadline. Payment issues should be resolved within the official payment-resolution window.
Candidates should fill institute and branch choices in their true order of preference. Dream choices should be placed above realistic and safe choices.
Choice locking is compulsory. Candidates should not wait for the last moment because server load, payment issues or confusion may create problems.
After each round, candidates must check the allotment result and complete online reporting within the deadline.
Allotted candidates must upload documents, pay the applicable institute admission fee, exercise willingness and respond to document verification queries.
After the final round, candidates must complete physical reporting and balance fee payment at the allotted institute as per the institute’s instructions.
| Candidate Category | CSAB Special Round Enrolment Fee |
| GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL | ₹40,000 |
| SC / ST / PwD | ₹19,000 |
The Special Round Enrolment Fee includes Institute Admission Fee-I and a non-refundable Special Round Processing Fee. Candidates should read the refund and fee-adjustment rules carefully before participating.
Choice filling is the most important part of CSAB counselling. Since CSAB is based on vacant seats, the cutoff can be unpredictable. Candidates should not fill only a few choices or only top CSE branches.
Candidates should arrange choices according to actual preference. A lower-preference college should not be placed above a higher-preference college only because it looks safer.
| Choice | Meaning |
| Dream choices | Cutoffs are better than your rank, but you still want to try |
| Aspirational choices | Previous cutoffs are slightly better than your rank |
| Realistic choices | Previous cutoffs are close to your rank |
| Safe choices | Your rank is better than previous closing ranks |
| Backup choices | Options you are willing to join if better choices are not allotted |
Previous year CSAB opening and closing ranks help in prediction, but they are not guaranteed. CSAB depends on vacant seats after JoSAA, so the cutoff can change sharply every year.
CSE, AI, IT and Data Science are highly competitive. Candidates should also consider ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Metallurgy, Production and other branches if they match their long-term goals.
CSAB previous year cutoff data helps candidates understand how seats were allotted in earlier counselling rounds. The cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks for different institutes, branches, categories, quotas, gender pools and rounds.
For CSAB 2026 counselling, previous year cutoff data is important because CSAB seat allotment depends on vacant seats left after JoSAA counselling. Unlike JoSAA, CSAB cutoffs can change sharply because the number of available seats is limited and branch-wise vacancies are not the same every year.
Students should use previous year CSAB opening and closing ranks only as a reference. The final CSAB 2026 cutoff will depend on official vacant seats, JEE Main rank, category, branch demand, institute preference and the number of candidates participating in counselling.
CSAB Special Round 2025 cutoff is one of the most important reference points for students participating in CSAB 2026 counselling. The 2025 cutoff shows the opening and closing ranks at which candidates received admission to vacant seats in the NIT+ system after JoSAA counselling.
The CSAB Special Round 2025 cutoff covers NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, SPAs, Other-GFTIs and other participating technical institutes. The cutoff data is available in the form of institute-wise, branch-wise, category-wise, quota-wise and gender-pool-wise opening and closing ranks.
Candidates should use CSAB Special Round 2025 cutoff only as a reference because CSAB 2026 cutoffs will depend on the fresh vacancy list released after JoSAA 2026. If a branch has no vacancy in CSAB 2026, previous-year cutoff data will not guarantee allotment.
| 2025 Cutoff Data Point | What It Means for CSAB 2026 Candidates |
| Special Round | Shows whether the cutoff belongs to Round 1, Round 2 or another special seat-filling round |
| Institute Type | Helps filter NIT, IIIT, IIEST, SPA, GFTI or other participating institutes |
| Institute Name | Shows the exact college where the seat was allotted |
| Academic Programme | Shows the B.Tech, B.Arch or B.Plan branch/course |
| Category | Shows OPEN, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwD or other applicable category |
| Quota | Shows Home State, Other State, All India or other applicable quota |
| Gender Pool | Shows gender-neutral or female-only seat pool |
| Opening Rank | First CRL rank allotted in that option |
| Closing Rank | Last CRL rank allotted in that option |
The CSAB Special Round 2025 cutoff trend shows that admission chances depend heavily on vacant seats after JoSAA. Top branches such as CSE, AI, Data Science, IT and ECE remained highly competitive because very few seats were available in popular institutes. Core branches and lower-demand branches generally had better movement wherever vacancies existed.
| Institute | CSAB Special Round 2025 Cutoff Trend | What It Means for CSAB 2026 |
| Top NIT CSE / AI / IT | Very high competition and limited vacancy | Keep as dream choices unless vacancy is visible |
| Top NIT ECE / Electrical | Competitive but slightly more flexible than CSE | Good aspirational choices for strong ranks |
| Top NIT Mechanical / Civil / Chemical | Better movement where seats were vacant | Useful realistic choices for mid-rank candidates |
| Tier 2 NIT CSE / IT / ECE | Strong demand but more realistic than top NIT CSE | Add with realistic expectations |
| Tier 3 NIT CSE / ECE | Better chance than Tier 1/2 CSE | Good target zone for mid-rank students |
| Newer NIT core branches | Higher possibility of vacancy-based movement | Useful safe options if branch is acceptable |
| IIIT CSE / IT | Competitive because of tech-focused demand | Check vacancy before placing too many IIIT CSE choices |
| GFTI branches | Wider rank movement possible | Good backup options for higher-rank candidates |
Students should compare CSAB 2025 cutoff with expected CSAB 2026 trends before filling choices. The 2025 cutoff gives a past admission reference, while the 2026 cutoff will depend on the official vacancy list after JoSAA 2026.
| Comparison Point | CSAB Special Round 2025 | Expected CSAB 2026 |
| Seat availability | Based on vacancies after JoSAA 2025 | Will depend on vacancies after JoSAA 2026 |
| Top branch demand | CSE, AI, IT and ECE remained highly competitive | Expected to remain highly competitive |
| Core branch movement | Better movement in selected NITs and GFTIs | Similar movement expected if vacancies remain |
| Rank relaxation | Varied by institute, branch, category and quota | Expected to vary sharply by vacancy |
| Best use for students | Previous-year prediction reference | Final decision should be based on 2026 vacancy list |
Candidates should not copy the 2025 closing ranks blindly. Instead, they should use the 2025 data to divide choices into dream, aspirational, realistic and safe options.
| Your JEE Main 2026 Rank vs CSAB 2025 Closing Rank | Admission Chance in CSAB 2026 | Choice |
| Your rank is much better than the 2025 closing rank | Better chance if vacancy exists | Safe choice |
| Your rank is close to the 2025 closing rank | Possible if trend remains similar | Realistic choice |
| Your rank is slightly worse than the 2025 closing rank | Possible if vacancy increases | Aspirational choice |
| Your rank is much worse than the 2025 closing rank | Low chance but can be added above realistic options | Dream choice |
| Branch had no 2025 CSAB vacancy | Highly unpredictable | Risk-based choice |
Branch demand is one of the biggest factors in CSAB cutoff movement. The 2025 trend can be used to understand which branches are likely to remain competitive in 2026.
| Branch | 2025 Cutoff Behaviour | Expected 2026 Behaviour |
| Computer Science and Engineering | Highest demand and limited movement | Expected to remain most competitive |
| Artificial Intelligence / Data Science | Very high demand in institutes where available | Expected to remain highly competitive |
| Information Technology | Strong demand, especially in IIITs and top NITs | Expected to remain competitive |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | High demand with slightly better movement than CSE | Expected to remain a strong target branch |
| Electrical Engineering | Moderate to high demand | May offer realistic chances in selected institutes |
| Mechanical Engineering | Better movement than CSE/ECE in many cases | Good option for NIT tag + core interest |
| Civil Engineering | More flexible than tech branches | Useful for candidates seeking NIT admission |
| Chemical Engineering | Institute-dependent movement | Good realistic option in selected NITs |
| Metallurgy / Materials / Production | Wider movement possible | Good backup branches if acceptable |
| Biotechnology / Mining / Textile | More flexible in vacancy-based rounds | Useful safe options for higher-rank candidates |
While checking CSAB Special Round 2025 opening and closing ranks, candidates should select the correct filters. A wrong filter can give a completely wrong admission prediction.
Students must check:
A General category CRL closing rank should not be compared with OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST or PwD category ranks. Similarly, Home State and Other State cutoffs should not be mixed.
The table below uses CSAB 2025 trends as a counselling reference for CSAB 2026. This is not official 2026 cutoff data.
| JEE Main CRL Rank Band | 2025-Based Expected CSAB 2026 Opportunity | Suggested Strategy |
| Below 10,000 | Top NIT non-CSE branches, top IIIT options, rare CSE vacancy | Add top branches first, but include strong backups |
| 10,000 – 25,000 | Tier 1/Tier 2 NIT ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, selected IIIT options | Balance NIT core branches with IIIT tech branches |
| 25,000 – 50,000 | Tier 2/Tier 3 NIT branches, IIITs and GFTIs | Add realistic NIT and IIIT choices with safe GFTIs |
| 50,000 – 90,000 | Tier 3/Tier 4 NIT core branches, newer IIITs, GFTIs | Do not depend only on CSE; add core branches |
| 90,000 – 1,50,000 | Newer NITs, GFTIs and lower-demand branches | Fill a broad list with many acceptable choices |
| Above 1,50,000 | GFTIs, selected lower-demand branches and vacancy-based options | Keep maximum backup options and alternative plans ready |
CSAB Special Round previous year cutoff shows the last ranks at which candidates got admission to vacant seats in the NIT+ system after JoSAA counselling. The NIT+ system includes NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, SPAs and other GFTIs.
Candidates should not compare CSAB Special Round cutoff directly with JoSAA cutoff. JoSAA cutoff is based on regular counselling rounds, while CSAB Special Round cutoff depends only on seats left vacant after JoSAA.
| Cutoff Data | Meaning |
| Year | The counselling year, such as 2025, 2024 or 2023 |
| Round | CSAB Special Round 1 or CSAB Special Round 2 |
| Institute | NIT, IIIT, IIEST, SPA or GFTI name |
| Branch | CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or other programme |
| Category | OPEN, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST or PwD |
| Quota | Home State, Other State or All India quota |
| Gender Pool | Gender-neutral or female-only seat pool |
| Opening Rank | First rank allotted in that programme |
| Closing Rank | Last rank allotted in that programme |
Previous year CSAB Special Round cutoff trends show that top branches like Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Electronics usually remain highly competitive. Core branches such as Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Metallurgy and Production may show more rank movement if seats remain vacant.
| Branch | Previous Year CSAB Cutoff Trend |
| Top NIT CSE / AI / IT | Very limited vacancy and highly competitive closing ranks |
| Top NIT ECE / Electrical | Competitive, but slightly more flexible than CSE in some cases |
| Top NIT Mechanical / Civil / Chemical | Better chances if seats remain vacant after JoSAA |
| Tier 2 NIT CSE / IT / ECE | Strong demand, but more realistic than top NIT CSE |
| Tier 3 NIT branches | Better chance for mid-rank candidates |
| Newer NIT core branches | Higher possibility of seat availability |
| IIIT CSE / IT | Competitive due to tech-focused demand |
| GFTI branches | Wider rank movement possible in lower-demand branches |
CSAB NEUT 2026 is conducted for eligible candidates from North-Eastern states and certain Union Territories. It is different from CSAB Special Round because the seat allocation is based on a separate NEUT scheme.
Candidates applying through CSAB NEUT 2026 should check state-wise eligibility, category rules, domicile requirements, seat matrix, registration process, choice filling rules and previous year opening-closing ranks.
CSAB NEUT eligibility depends on the candidate’s state or Union Territory, domicile or permanent resident status, academic qualification, category certificate and other rules mentioned in the official business rules.
Candidates should check:
| Eligibility Point | What to Verify |
| State/UT eligibility | Whether your state or UT is covered under CSAB NEUT |
| Domicile requirement | Whether a valid domicile or permanent resident certificate is required |
| Academic qualification | Whether you meet the required educational criteria |
| Category certificate | Whether your category certificate is valid for the counselling process |
| Seat matrix | Which institutes and branches are available for your state/UT |
| Choice filling rules | Whether there are any state-wise or category-wise restrictions |
CSAB NEUT previous year cutoff is different from CSAB Special Round cutoff. NEUT counselling is conducted for eligible North-Eastern states and Union Territory candidates under a separate reservation scheme.
Candidates should check previous year CSAB NEUT cutoff based on their own state or Union Territory, category, institute and branch. A cutoff for one state or UT cannot be used to predict admission chances for another state or UT.
| Year | Round | Institute | Programme | Quota / State-UT | Category | Opening Rank | Closing Rank |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Jadavpur University, Kolkata | Architecture | Ladakh | Open | 8,977 | 8,977 |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Jadavpur University, Kolkata | Architecture | Arunachal Pradesh | Category-1 | 16,726 | 40,810 |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Coimbatore Institute of Technology | Computer Science & Engineering | Mizoram | ST - Permanent Resident of Mizoram | 3,47,496 | 3,70,684 |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Coimbatore Institute of Technology | Computer Science & Engineering | Manipur | UR | 1,48,161 | 1,48,161 |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Coimbatore Institute of Technology | Civil Engineering | Arunachal Pradesh | Category-1 | 6,24,618 | 6,42,087 |
| 2024 | Round 1 | Coimbatore Institute of Technology | Electrical and Electronics Engineering | Mizoram | ST - Permanent Resident of Mizoram | 4,40,640 | 5,56,210 |
Previous year CSAB NEUT cutoff data shows that rank movement varies widely depending on state quota, category, institute and branch. Some seats may close at very competitive ranks, while others may close at much higher ranks depending on seat availability and eligible candidates.
NEUT candidates should not use normal JoSAA cutoffs or CSAB Special Round cutoffs for prediction. They should use NEUT-specific cutoff data only.
CSAB Supernumerary 2026 is a dedicated counselling round for admission to supernumerary seats at selected NITs. It is not the same as CSAB Special Round or CSAB NEUT.
For 2026, CSAB Supernumerary is expected to cover supernumerary seats at:
| Institute | Seat Type |
| NIT Calicut | Supernumerary seats |
| NIT Durgapur | Supernumerary seats |
| SVNIT Surat | Supernumerary seats |
The round is for eligible candidates from specified Union Territories. Candidates must check the official eligibility rules, seat matrix, registration dates, branch availability and reporting process before participating.
CSAB Supernumerary 2026 is for candidates from selected Union Territories as per official rules. Candidates should verify:
| Eligibility Point | What to Check |
| State of eligibility | Whether your Union Territory is eligible |
| JEE Main rank | Whether your JEE Main 2026 rank is valid |
| Institute availability | Whether NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur or SVNIT Surat has relevant seats |
| Branch availability | Which programmes are available |
| Category rules | Whether category-wise seats are available |
| Documents | Whether UT/domicile/category documents are valid |
The official CSAB 2026 cutoff will be released only after seat allotment. Until then, candidates can use previous year CSAB cutoffs, JoSAA final round cutoffs and the official vacancy list to estimate admission chances.
The expected CSAB 2026 cutoff below is only for counselling planning. It is not an official cutoff.
| JEE Main CRL Rank Band | Expected CSAB 2026 Admission Chances | Suggested Choice Filling Strategy |
| Below 10,000 | Top NIT non-CSE branches, top IIIT options and rare top NIT CSE vacancy | Add dream choices first, then strong backup options |
| 10,000 – 25,000 | Tier 1 or Tier 2 NIT ECE, Electrical, Mechanical and selected IIIT CSE/ECE | Mix top NIT core branches with IIIT and Tier 2 NIT options |
| 25,000 – 50,000 | Tier 2 or Tier 3 NIT branches, IIITs and GFTIs | Add realistic NIT branches with safe GFTI and IIIT options |
| 50,000 – 90,000 | Tier 3 or Tier 4 NIT core branches, newer IIITs and GFTIs | Do not depend only on CSE; add Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Electrical |
| 90,000 – 1,50,000 | Newer NITs, GFTIs and lower-demand branches | Fill a broad choice list with realistic and safe options |
| Above 1,50,000 | GFTIs, selected branches and vacancy-based options | Add maximum acceptable choices and keep backup admission options ready |
Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology and Electronics are expected to remain the most competitive branches in CSAB Special Round 2026. Vacancies in these branches may be limited, especially in top NITs and popular IIITs.
| Branch | Expected CSAB 2026 Demand | Expected Seat Availability |
| Computer Science and Engineering | Very High | Very limited in top institutes |
| Artificial Intelligence / Data Science | Very High | Limited due to strong demand |
| Information Technology | Very High | Limited in popular institutes |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | High | Better availability than CSE but still competitive |
| Electrical Engineering | High to Moderate | Possible movement in selected NITs |
| Mechanical Engineering | Moderate | Better chances than CSE and ECE |
| Civil Engineering | Moderate to Flexible | More movement possible |
| Chemical Engineering | Moderate | Institute-dependent availability |
| Metallurgy / Materials Engineering | Flexible | Good option for NIT tag seekers |
| Production / Industrial Engineering | Flexible | May offer wider rank movement |
| Biotechnology / Mining / Textile | Flexible | Useful backup options if acceptable |
CSAB NEUT 2026 cutoff is expected to depend strongly on state or Union Territory quota, category, branch and institute. Candidates should not use regular JoSAA or CSAB Special Round cutoffs to predict CSAB NEUT admission.
| Candidate Type | Expected CSAB NEUT 2026 Strategy |
| Strong rank with eligible NE/UT quota | Target top participating institutes and preferred branches |
| Mid-rank candidate | Add CSE/ECE dream options but include Electrical, Civil and Mechanical |
| Higher-rank candidate | Fill a broad list across multiple institutes and branches |
| Category candidate | Compare only with category-wise NEUT cutoff data |
| UT candidate | Check state/UT-specific seat matrix before choice filling |
CSAB Supernumerary 2026 will be important for eligible candidates from specified Union Territories. Since the number of supernumerary seats is limited, cutoffs can fluctuate sharply every year.
| Institute | Expected Competition Level | Important Branches to Track |
| NIT Calicut | High | CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil |
| NIT Durgapur | Moderate to High | CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil |
| SVNIT Surat | High | CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical |
| Point | JoSAA 2026 | CSAB 2026 |
| Full form | Joint Seat Allocation Authority | Central Seat Allocation Board |
| Main purpose | Regular seat allocation | Vacant and special seat allocation |
| Institutes | IITs and NIT+ system | NIT+ system and special seat pools |
| IIT seats | Included | Not included in CSAB Special Round |
| Admission basis | JEE Advanced for IITs, JEE Main for NIT+ | Mainly JEE Main for NIT+ and special rounds |
| Registration | JoSAA registration | Fresh CSAB registration required |
| Cutoff stability | More stable | More vacancy-dependent |
| Best for | Main counselling process | Second opportunity after JoSAA |
Candidates should use previous year CSAB cutoff data to divide their choices into dream, aspirational, realistic and safe options.
| Choice | Your Rank Compared to Previous Closing Rank | Admission Chance |
| Dream Choice | Your rank is worse than the previous closing rank | Low chance, but can be added at the top |
| Aspirational Choice | Your rank is slightly worse than the previous closing rank | Possible if vacancies increase |
| Realistic Choice | Your rank is close to the previous closing rank | Good target option |
| Safe Choice | Your rank is better than the previous closing rank | Better chance if seats are available |
| Very Safe Choice | Your rank is much better than the previous closing rank | Strong backup option |
Candidates should not remove dream choices just because the previous year cutoff was better than their rank. CSAB checks choices in order, so dream options can be placed above realistic and safe choices. However, the final list must include enough backup options to avoid missing allotment.
Suppose a candidate has a JEE Main CRL rank of 52,000 and wants admission through CSAB Special Round 2026. The candidate should not fill only CSE choices in top NITs. A better strategy would be to create a balanced list.
| Priority | Choice | Example Strategy |
| 1 | Dream Choices | Tier 2 NIT ECE or Electrical |
| 2 | Aspirational Choices | Tier 3 NIT CSE or ECE |
| 3 | Realistic Choices | Tier 3 or Tier 4 NIT Mechanical, Civil or Chemical |
| 4 | Safe Choices | GFTI CSE, ECE or lower-demand NIT branches |
| 5 | Backup Choices | Multiple acceptable GFTI and IIIT options |
This strategy gives the candidate a better chance because the list includes both preferred branches and realistic vacancy-based options.
Candidates should keep the following documents ready before CSAB registration and reporting:
Candidates must respond to document verification queries within the deadline. Not responding on time may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
CSAB Special Round requires fresh registration. Candidates who do not register separately will not be considered.
CSAB is based on vacant seats. If a branch has no vacancy, it will not be allotted.
CSE is highly competitive. Candidates should add related and backup branches if they are acceptable.
JoSAA and CSAB are different processes. CSAB cutoff depends on vacant seats after JoSAA.
General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST and PwD candidates must check their own category cutoff.
A short choice list can reduce admission chances. Candidates should include realistic and safe options.
If a document query is raised, the candidate must respond before the deadline.
CSAB 2026 counselling is a major opportunity for students who want admission to NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, SPAs and GFTIs after JoSAA. The three important processes are CSAB Special Round 2026, CSAB NEUT 2026 and CSAB Supernumerary 2026.
To make the best decision, candidates should use CSAB Special Round 2025 cutoff, previous year opening and closing ranks, official vacancy lists, category-wise data, state/UT quota data and expected 2026 cutoff trends. The safest strategy is to fill choices in true preference order, include enough realistic and safe options, respond to document queries on time and follow only official CSAB updates.
