In the previous segment, we had a look at Quadratic Equations. In this segment, we will learn about Terms.
What is a Term?
In Algebra, a Term is a single number, a variable, or numbers and variables multiplied or divided together. An expression with only one term is known as a single term.
For example,
- 47
- x
- 8z
When single terms are multiplied or divided by other single terms, the resulting term is also a single term.
For example,
- 36xy
When single terms are added to or subtracted from other single terms, the resulting term is not a single term.
For example,
- 13x + 6
- 15xy – 5z
- 16x + 15y – z
