In the previous segment, we have learnt about the Electric potential difference. In this segment, we will solve a word problem based on potential difference.
Problem
Q. How much work is done in moving a charge of 1.5C across two points having a potential difference of 10V?
Given:
Charge (Q) = 1.5C
Potential difference (V) = 10V
To find: Work done (W) Formula: ? = ?/? Solution:
V = W/Q
∴ 10 = W/1.5
∴ W = 10 x 1.5 = 15J
∴ W = 15J
Therefore, the work done in moving the charge is 15 joules.
What’s Next?
In the next segment of Class 10 Science, we will study the various circuit diagram symbols
that are used frequently.
