What is a Hare?

Hares are mammals of the family Leporidae, in the order Lagomorpha. They are similar in size to rabbits and have long ears, short tails, and powerful hind legs. They are herbivorous and feed mainly on grasses and other plants.

Classification of hares

There are over forty species of hare, which are classified in the family Leporidae. Hares are usually larger than rabbits, and have longer ears and a more upright posture. They are also typically reddish-brown in color, although some species are gray or black.
