What are Lions?
The lion is a large, carnivorous mammal of the family Felidae, typically weighing between 190 and 250 kg (420 and 550 lb). The lion is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Lions are native to Africa and the Middle East. In the wild, they live in grasslands and open woodlands. Lions are opportunistic hunters and eat a variety of prey, including antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and other large animals.
