The Ostrich Bird
The ostrich is a large, flightless bird found in Africa. Ostriches are the largest living birds on the planet. They weigh between 110 and 240 pounds and stand nearly 8 feet tall. Ostriches have two toes on each foot and can run up to 43 miles per hour. Ostriches are omnivores and eat a variety of plants and animals. They primarily feed on insects, grass, and other small animals. Ostriches also eat seeds, fruits, and flowers.
