• You may have been confused since there are other entrance examinations with the suffix JEE, such as West Bengal state engineering exams and West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam. Make sure you know the names of the examinations you’ll be taking.
• B.E./BTech, B. Arch, and B.Planning are the subjects for which JEE tests are held.

JEE Main vs. JEE Advance

• Once you’ve grasped the distinction between IIT and JEE, you’ll see that the Joint Entrance Exam is separated into two halves. The Mains test is the first, and the Advanced exam is the second.
• JEE Mains is the first test you’ll need to take if you want to study at one of the IITs. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will administer this test this year from September 1st to September 6th.
• You will be eligible for JEE Advanced if you get the required marks (to be announced later) in JEE Mains.
• Every year, on a rotating basis, any IITs conduct the JEE Advanced Examination.

What happens with JEE’s main score

The JEE Mains test is the first round of the screening process. After passing the IIT JEE Mains test, you will receive an All-India Rank. You’ll be eligible for the following perks if you have that rank:

• Admission to any of the 32 National Institutes of Technology (National Institutes of Technology).
• Admission to any 18 IIITs is possible (Indian Institution of Information Technology).
• Admission to any 19 CFTIs is possible (Centrally Funded Technical Institutes).
• Admission to any of the other engineering universities that are participating.

Eligibility for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs

Admission to any of the B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning programs offered by the NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be made through the Central Seat Allocation Board. The following are the requirements for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs:

• A JEE Mains All-India Rank.
• A minimum of 75% on the 12th-grade exams is required.
• The candidate must score in the top 20% of their class in the qualifying examination administered by the various Boards.
• The qualifying marks in the class 12 examination/qualifying examination for SC/ST candidates will be 65 percent.

The following are the requirements for JEE Advanced eligibility:

• The candidate must have scored at least 75 percent on the class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination (65 percent for S.C., S.T., and PwD).
• In their separate Board examinations, the candidate must be in the top 20% of the successful candidates.
