    Add 25 to the end. Now, take the first digit on the left and multiply it by +1. Voila! There you go!

    For example: Find (45)2 =?

    Step 1: 45×45 = …….25 (to the end)

    Step 2: 4x (4+1) = 4×5 = 20

    The Answer for 45×45 is 2025.

    Try Now with these numbers —- 25, 35, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95.

    2. Multiplying a Number by 5

    Most kids easily learn the 5 times tables. However, when it comes to greater numbers, it becomes more complicated. Doesn’t it? Worry not! Here is an easy trick to try:

    Take any integer and divide it by two (in other words, half the number). If the result is a whole number, append a 0 to the end. If not, disregard the remainder and add a 5 at the end. It is always effective:

    Even Number:

    2464 x 5 =?
    Step 1. Divide 2464 by 2 = 1232
    Step 2. Add 0
    Here is the answer

    2464 x 5 = 12320

    Odd Number:

    3775 x 5

    Step 1. It is an odd number

    (3775 – 1) / 2 = 1887

    Step 2. Because it is an odd number, we shall substitute 5 for 0.

    3775 x 5 = 18875 is the solution.

    3. Subtraction from 1000, 10000, 100000, etc

    If you want to obtain a quick subtraction result of any high number starting with 1000, 10000, and so on, the Vedic Mathematics Subtraction method is the most beneficial. You only need to remember one simple formula: Subtract all from 9 and the last from 10.

    For instance, 1000 – 473 =? (Deduction from 1000)

    We subtract the first 473 figures from 9 and the last from 10.

    • Step 1: 9 – 4 =5
    • Step 2: 9 – 7 = 2
    • Step 3: 10 – 3 =7

    Hence the answer is 527.

    Now, it is your turn: Find out 1000 – 357, 10000 – 1049.

    4. Multiplication of any two-digit number between 11 and 19

    Using this approach, you can easily multiply any two-digit number from 11 to 19. It’s no surprise that it can produce results faster than a calculator if generously exercised! Take a look at the four steps involved:

    • Step 1: To the larger numeral, add the unit digit of the smaller number.
    • Step 2: After adding, multiply the result you get by 10.
    • Step 3: Multiply both numbers and unit digits.
    • Step 4: Add the two numbers together that you get from steps 1 & step 2.

    Consider the following two numbers: 13 & 15.

    • Step 1. 15 + 3 =18.
    • Step 2. 18×10 = 180.
    • Step 3. 3×5 = 15
    • Step 4. Add the two numbers, I.e., 180+15

    And the answer for 13×16 is 195.

    5. Dividing a huge value by 5

    This method will rapidly bring you the result of dividing a huge value by 5. You must multiply the number by 2 and then shift the decimal point.

    For example, let us try to find out the answer for 235/5

    • Step 1. 235×2 = 470
    • Step 2. Move the decimal to: 47.0 or just 47

    Let’s try another: 2128/5

    • Step 1: 2128 x 2 = 4256
      Step2: Move the decimal to: 425.6 or just 425

    Now try…. 6951/5, 2212/5, 4751/5, 1962/5, 8542/5.

    6. Multiplication of a two-digit number by 11

    You can do multiplication in just 1 or 2 seconds using this approach. So, let us see how this method can help perform calculations in seconds.

    To multiply 25 and 11, visualize a space between 25 and 11.

    • Step 1: Create an imaginary space between 25×11 =2_5
    • Step 2: Add 2 and 5 and put the result in the imaginary space.

    As a result, the answer is: 25×11 = 275

    Now try: 17×11, 35×11, 15×11, 19×11.

    7. Multiply any huge integer by 12

    To multiply any number by 12, double the final digit, then double each digit and add to its neighbor.

    For instance, 13243×12 =?

    Let’s break it down into easy steps:

    • Step 1: 13243×12 = _______6 (Double of last digit 3 =6)
    • Step 2: 13243×12 =______16 (Now Double 4 =8, and add it to 3, 8+3 = 11, 1 will get carry over)
    • Step 3: 13243×12 =____916 (Now Double 2=4, and add it to 4 with carry, 4+4+1 =9)
    • Step 4: 13243×12 =__916 (Now Double 3 =6, and add it to 2, 6+2 =8)
    • Step 5: 13243×12=_58916 (Now Double 1 =2, and add it to 3, 2+3 =5)
    • Step 6: 13243×12= 158916

    So, your final answer is 158916.

    Now try 2431×12, 1256×12, and so on.

    8. The trick for finding any square

    You can find the square of any number using the following trick:

    In Vedic math, finding the square of any number is exceedingly simple. Below are the steps for the same:

    • Step 1. Select a base close to the number whose square is to be calculated.
    • Step 2: Determine the number’s deviation from its base.
    • Step 3: Add the difference to the number.
    • Step 4: Divide the result by the base.
    • Step 5: Multiply the product of the square of the difference by the result of the previous point.

    Let us take an example. We will try to find out the square of 99, i.e., (99)2

    • Step 1. The number close to 99 is 100, and it will be the base
    • Step 2. Let us determine the difference = 99-100 = -1
    • Step 3. Add the difference to the number = 99 + (-1) = 98
    • Step 4. Multiplying the result by base = 98×100 = 9800
    • Step 5. Adding the final result with square of difference = 9800 + (-1) ² = 9801

    Now try… (98) ², (97) ², (102) ², (101) ².
