In the previous segment, we learnt what a Pictograph is. In this segment, we will learn how to draw a pictograph.
How to draw a pictograph?
There are four steps involved in drawing a pictograph:
Step 1: Collect the data that is to be represented as a pictograph.
Step 2: Choose a symbol in accordance with the data you are representing.
For example, to represent chocolates we use a picture of chocolate or the picture of a TV to show the number of televisions.
Step 3: Assign the symbol a value relating to the data.
For example, 1 picture of a TV = 100 televisions in the data.
Step 4: Draw the pictograph by analysing the data and using the assigned symbols.
Let us now understand the steps with an example.
Collect data from a fruit seller about his sales in a particular week and represent it in the form of a pictograph.
