    In the previous segment, we learnt about Creepers and Climbers. In this segment, we will learn about Roots.

    What are the different parts of a plant?

    The plant body is composed of five major parts. They are roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. All these parts perform their individual functions efficiently.

    What are Roots?

    Roots are the part of the plant which are usually underground. There are two main types of roots. Taproots and Fibrous roots.

    What are Taproots?

    The Taproot system is composed of the main root which grows from the base of the stem. Multiple branches and sub-branches arise from this main root. These branches are also known as lateral roots.

    What are Fibrous roots?

    The Fibrous root is a cluster of thin fibre-like roots which arise from the base of the stem. These roots spread out in the soil.
