All square numbers end with the digits 0, 1, 4, 5, 6 or 9.
From the table is it obvious that every square number ends in one of these digits. This means any number ending in 2, 3, 7 and 8 is definitely not a square number.
The squares of even numbers are even.
Even numbers are numbers that end in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8. And we know that the product of 2 even numbers is always even.
