In this article, we will learn about the result calculation and the overall assessment. Also, we will know how the introduction of a modified syllabus is going to impact the students.

We all are aware that the CBSE board announced the distribution of the entire syllabus for classes IX, X, XI, and XII into two terms for the academic season 2021-22. If you are wondering who will conduct these two term-end examinations, it is undoubtedly the CBSE board. The Term 1 exams will be conducted at the respective CBSE and its affiliated schools. However, the Term 2 exams are most likely to be held at the designated centers as scheduled by the CBSE board.

Let us move to the evaluation process of both term-end examinations. As per the CBSE guidelines, Term 1 will have slightly less weightage than Term 2. The board will later announce the exact weightage of each term during the declaration of the final results.

Is Term 1 more important or Term 2?

Since Term 2 holds more weightage than Term 1, it is obvious that many consider the former more important. Some may even neglect the latter and focus more on Term 2. However, it is not the case. The final result will include an equal contribution of the marks scored in both terms. Therefore, both Terms are equally important, and students should study well to secure good scores in those exams.

Apart from the term-end exams, the students of classes IX to XII will have internal assessments. These will include various things like the project work, practical exams, and other assessments. If you want to evaluate or assess the overall performance of a student, you need to consider all these assessments along with the Term 1 and Term 2 results.

You may think about how the CBSE will manage to assess the individual performance of all students in the schools across the nation. The CBSE board has stated that it will make all the necessary efforts to ensure the proper assessment of each student. As a part of it, the board announces the required guidelines and the moderation policy that all schools should adhere to. It will ensure that every student will be rewarded a score as per the credibility of their project work, practical work, and other internal assessments. Further, the board will direct the schools to create individual profiles of all students. These profiles should contain scores of all the assessment tests that all the students take during the two terms. They will keep updating the performance of the students and the internal assessment marks in the specially designated portal of the CBSE board.

I hope this article gave you ample information on the assessment and evaluation process of the new curriculum for classes IX, X, XI, XII. Keep coming back for more information on the same. We will keep updating further after there are new announcements or notifications from the CBSE board.
