Ways to Make the IIT Dream Come True

You can divide students who aspire to join the IITs or are accepted into IITs into two groups. a) Those who start early and b) Those who begin considerably later, following their first board/public exam. The difference may be tiny, but the early starters have a slight edge.

The fight for elite IITs is regarded as one of the most difficult exams in the world. It is considered more difficult than admission to the elite Ivy League colleges. With the exams becoming a two-stage process rather than a one-stage process – JEE Main and JEE Advanced – the number of candidates has only increased with more awareness. And an increasing number of students are eager to gain admission to these prestigious IITs. The alumni success has been well documented, and admission to the IITs is regarded as The Beginning of one’s professional life’s progress and prosperity.

Some students have already begun their march towards the goal of getting into IITs as early as 6th grade for an exam to be taken after 12th grade. However, there is no evidence that a lengthier preparation ensures admittance into the elite. Rather, the true preparation begins when the student is in his or her final two or three years of study, around the 10th or 11th grade. With so much hype, hoopla, and the halo surrounding IITs, schools have cropped up across the country to capitalize on this notion.

The immense pressure of getting into the IITs forced the students to study so hard that some miss the schooling joy. It would not be exaggerating to say there are some students who attend schools with the only goal of basing their entire life on one or two tests. As the proverb goes, there is more joy in pursuit than achievement. However, with students starting so early and the pursuit being so long, there does appear to be much fun for the students. With so much pressure on the system and performance standards, the entire purpose of attending school has taken a different dimension, and the primary goal of schooling has taken a second seat.

Marks and performance in entrance tests became the ultimate defining characteristics of success. The sole objective of education is to teach a student how to live his life by growing his thinking and preparing him to deal with reality. He requires theoretical, or intellectual, training. You need to teach him how to think, understand, integrate, and demonstrate. Besides, he must know the fundamentals of previously found knowledge and must be equipped to gain additional knowledge via his own efforts.

The fundamental question that arises is what does it take to gain admission to the premier institutes – IITs – and how much one should labor. The 23 IITs have a total of 16,053 seats, and admission is based on two exams, as previously stated: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The 16,053 students who attend the institute are focused, regular, and being coached/guided. Through puzzles, reasoning, and assertion-based questions, the tests assess students’ grasp of the subject and its application. It assesses the aptitude, analytical, logical, and reasoning abilities of the student.

    IIT JEE Exam

The majority of students begin their genuine exam preparation a few months or weeks before the exam. However, because IIT JEE is a competitive exam and one is rated relatively, preparing for it should begin much earlier than for other school-based exams. It is not about how good you are as a student. All it matters is how better you are than the other students who take the exam. It is all about answering all the questions in a timely manner. In school-based exams, one had the choice to skip as he had the options. It is not the same here. The preparation requires one to be thorough with all topics and does not allow one to skip any topic.

Preparing for the IIT JEE exam helps improve one’s understanding of the idea as well as their academic score. The exam syllabus covers NCERT 11th and 12th standards. Hence, one can begin preparing for the exam as an improvement in problem-solving and decision-making ability. It will further serve them well in their professional lives as well. All the challenges we face, assess our comprehension and critical thinking abilities. Being able to tackle them improves these qualities of the students.

    Advantages of Training Program:

The primary advantage of a training program is the structure and discipline that it offers. It helps students set milestones and objectives for a two-year period that have already been completed by professionals. Additionally, it will set the path for others to follow rather than re-inventing/discovering one on their own. Another benefit is peer group learning. It adds value to one’s preparation while improving and broadening one’s perspective on how to approach a subject. Since it is a competitive exam, knowing how other students perform will constantly motivate you to perform better.

However, a few toppers may have to battle against themselves. With the IIT JEE syllabus spanning both 11th and 12th grades, students can begin preparing for the entrance exam as early as the 11th grade. Some training institutes, on the other hand, cover both years’ topics in the first year with medium-level challenging questions. They spend the second year in revision and trying higher/difficult levels questions. It is crucial that students spend at least two years in training. With the syllabus comprising both the 11th and 12th grades and too many topics to complete, one year may not suffice for thorough preparation.

In a word, getting through the IIT JEE exam involves consistent effort and going in the correct direction. These are essential in addition to patience, attitude, and belief that one is good enough to crack the entrance exams into IITs. So those who are willing to put in the effort for two years and are focused on the task can aspire to get into elite IITs with the appropriate coaching.
