Salt is obtained from the sea by the process of evaporation.Salt is obtained from seawater. It contains a substantial amount of salt, which can be obtained by evaporation. The sea water is allowed to stand in tiny shallow pits. When sunlight falls on these pits, water evaporates completely. After the removal of water, solid salt is left behind, which is further purified to obtain pure salt.
