Solution:

de Broglie wavelength $λ = \frac{h}{p} \Rightarrow p = \frac{h}{λ}$

$∴$ kinetic energy $= \frac{p^{2}}{2 m} = \frac{{(h / λ)}^{2}}{2 m} = \frac{h^{2}}{2 m λ^{2}}$
