In the previous segment, we learnt about oxidation and reduction reactions. In this segment, we will learn about combination and decomposition reactions.
What are the Different energy changes in a chemical reaction?
Every chemical reaction undergoes energy changes. Based on these changes they are divided into two types: exothermic reactions and endothermic reactions.
What is an Exothermic reaction?
The chemical reaction in which Heat energy is released is called an exothermic reaction.
For example, respiration.
What is an Endothermic reaction?
The chemical reaction in which Heat Energy is absorbed is called an endothermic reaction.
For example, photosynthesis.
What are the Different types of chemical reactions?
Chemical reactions are classified into five major categories. They are combination reaction, decomposition reaction, oxidation-reduction reaction, displacement reaction and double displacement reaction.
