Different Types of Equations:
There are three types of equations: linear equations, quadratic equations, and exponential equations.
Linear equations are equations in which the highest exponent is 1. They are typically represented by an equation of the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.
Quadratic equations are equations in which the highest exponent is 2. They are typically represented by an equation of the form ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a is the coefficient of the x2 term, b is the coefficient of the x term, and c is the constant term.
Exponential equations are equations in which the highest exponent is a number greater than 2. They are typically represented by an equation of the form axn, where a is the coefficient of the xn term.
Linear Equation:
A linear equation is an equation in which each term is either a constant or a variable raised to a power of one. Linear equations are also called first-degree equations, because the highest power of any variable is one.
Quadratic Equation:
A quadratic equation is an equation in the form ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a, b, and c are real numbers and a ≠ 0. The solutions to a quadratic equation are the x-intercepts of the graph of the equation.
Radical Equation:
\frac{1}{x}-\frac{1}{y}=\frac{1}{z}
This equation is a radical equation because it contains a radical expression. In this equation, the radicals are the fractions with the denominators of x, y, and z.
Exponential Equation:
An exponential equation is a type of equation in which the variable appears in a power. The most common form of an exponential equation is in the form of y = ax^b, where a and b are constants.
Rational Equations:
A rational equation is an equation in which at least one of the variables is a rational number.
A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers.
The most common type of rational equation is an equation in which one of the variables is a fraction.
Other types of rational equations include equations in which one of the variables is a decimal or a percentage.
