At equatorial point, $Electric field : E_{e} = - \frac{1}{4 {πε}_{0}} \frac{p}{r^{2}} and potential : V_{e} = \frac{1}{4 {πε}_{0}} \frac{pcosθ}{r^{2}}$ .

On the perpendicular bisector $θ = 90^{0}$ .So potential will be zero.
