What is Coherence?
Coherence is a property of waveforms that describes how well the waveform retains its shape when it is shifted in time. A waveform is said to be coherent if it has a constant phase relationship between its component parts. In other words, the waveform does not change shape as it moves through time. Coherence is a measure of the degree to which a waveform retains its shape. A waveform that is perfectly coherent will have a coherence of 1.0. A waveform that is completely incoherent will have a coherence of 0.0.
Incoherence and Incoherent Sources
Incoherence is a lack of logical cohesion or coherence between ideas. Incoherent sources are sources of information that lack logical cohesion or coherence.
