    Solution:

    Given that, a man started his job with a certain monthly salary and earns a fixed increment every year. His salary was Rs.1500 after 4 years of service and Rs.1800 after 10 years of his service.
    Let his salary be x and the annual increment by y.
    Since, his salary was Rs.1500 after 4 years of service.
    Thus, x+4y=1500 ………….(1)
    Since, his salary was Rs.1800 after 4 years of service.
    Thus, x+10y=1800 ………….(2)
    Subtract equation 1 by equation 2,
    Then, x+10y-x-4y=1800-1500
     6y=300  y=50 Substitute y=50  in the equation 1,
    Then, x+450=1500
     x=1500-200  x=1300 Thus, his starting salary and the annual increment are Rs.1300 and Rs.50 respectively.
    Hence the correct option is 1.
