    Solution:

    Given that, the age of a father is equal to sum of the ages of his 5 children.
    Let the age of the father is x years and sum of the ages of his 5 children by y.
    x=y…………(1)
    After 15 years twice the age of the father will be the sum of ages of his children.
    y+515=2(x+15) 2x-y=45…………..(2)
    Substituting x=y in equation 2 we get,
    2x-x=45 x=45 So, the present age of the father is 45 yrs.
    Hence, option 2 is correct.
