The given equations are,

x = 2 y - 1

… (1)

y = 2 x - 7

… (2)
From (1) we have,
⇒

x = 2 y - 1

Put the value of x in (2) we have,

y = 2 \times (2 y - 1) - 7

⇒

y = 4 y - 9

⇒

y = 3

Putting the value of y in (1).
⇒

x = 2 y - 1

⇒

x = 2 \times 3 - 1

⇒

x = 5

Therefore,

x = 5, y = 3

.
Hence, the correct option is 3.
