Solution:
Zinc is coated over iron and is called galvanization.Galvanization is the zinc coating layer over iron to stop iron rusting. Here zinc acts as an anode sacrificial electrode. When iron comes in contact with moisture, it gets oxidised easily. Rust is an iron oxide. It is usually reddish brown oxide formed by the reaction of iron and oxygen in the catalytic presence of water or air moisture. Iron is coated with a layer of zinc which acts as a barrier that prevents corrosive material from reaching the iron.
