What is Altitude?
Altitude from a point to a line Altitude from a point to a surface
Altitude is defined as the perpendicular distance from a point to a line or to a surface. It is also the shortest distance between a point and a line.
Among all the lines drawn from a point to a line, the altitude will always be the shortest. Another name for altitude is height.
