What are Medians of a triangle?

    • The line connecting a vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side of that vertex is called the Median of a triangle.
    • A triangle has three medians.
    • The point where the three medians of the triangle intersect is known as the

    Centroid of the triangle.

    For example, consider triangle ABC.

The 3 sides are side AB, side BC, and side AC. The midpoints of these sides are points D, E, and F respectively. Thus,

    • The lengths of segments AD and BD are equal.
    • The lengths of segments BE and CE are equal.
    • The lengths of segments AF and CF are equal.
