Triaxial consolidation apparatus is widely used to study the behavior of saturated cohesive soils under different stress paths. The consolidation tests are conducted to examine the effect of stress path on the behavior of saturated cohesive soils. The triaxial consolidation apparatus consists of three cells, two of which are connected by a manifold, and the third cell is connected to the atmosphere. The triaxial consolidation cell is lined with a rubber membrane to prevent the soil from leaking into the drainage chamber. The cell is filled with the saturated cohesive soil and the triaxial consolidation test is conducted under different stress paths. The triaxial consolidation test is conducted by applying a constant load on the top of the saturated cohesive soil.
