Solution:
A chemical change occurs when the reactions are irreversible. They cause the release or absorption of energy. As a result, a new substance with new properties is formed. A chemical change is a change of substances into a new substance with different properties, and more than one material is formed. It results when a substance combines with another to form a new substance. Chemical changes include temperature change, precipitate formation, production of light, volume change, and change in smell or taste. For example, rusting of iron is a chemical change because the iron metal gets oxidised to form an iron oxide with air. It is an irreversible process.
