Solution:
Crystallization is the process not preferred to separate clear water from a sample of muddy water.Clean water is separated from muddy water using sedimentation, filtration and decantation.
In the first step, water is allowed to stand for some time. Due to this, the mud settles down at the bottom because it is heavier than water. This process is called sedimentation. Then the upper layer, which is free from mud, is poured into another glass known as decantation. Water is then filtered to remove the impurities, called filtration. Crystallization is the method where liquid solution or gas is physically transformed into crystals.
