JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria As Per Earlier Admissions at IITs
Candidates previously admitted to an IIT through JoSAA 2023, regardless of whether they continued in the program or not, are ineligible for JEE Advanced. Eligibility Criteria for Cutoff of JEE Advanced 2024
The category-wise cutoff marks of JEE Advanced for the top 20 percentile are determined based on the scores achieved by candidates who pass their respective board examinations in the given year. For PwD candidates, the cutoff marks are set to be the same as the lowest of the cutoff marks for other categories.
The top 20 percentile cutoff for the academic year 2024 is applicable to candidates who have passed the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination in the same year. Similarly, candidates who cleared the exam in the academic year 2023 will be considered based on the cutoff marks of that year.
Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam for the first time in 2023 and aiming to qualify for the top 20 percentile cutoff in 2024 must retake all subjects. Their eligibility will be based on the top 20 percentile cutoff of 2023.
In instances where a Board does not provide information about the top 20 percentile cutoff, candidates must obtain a certificate from the respective board confirming that they fall within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates.
Note: The cutoff marks are subject to change based on the respective board’s policies and regulations.
JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria III (Number Of Attempts)
Candidates are allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced exam a maximum of 2 times within 2 consecutive years. Candidates can attempt the exam in two successive years to improve their scores or eligibility. However, after exhausting these two attempts, candidates cannot take the exam again.
JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria II (Age Limit)
To be eligible for the JEE Advanced Exam 2024, candidates must have been born after October 1, 1999. However, candidates from the SC, ST, and PwD categories are granted a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
