    JEE Mains exam consists of two papers – Paper 1 for B.E/B.Tech admission and Paper 2 for B.Arch and B.Planning admission. Both papers are computer-based tests (CBT) conducted in two shifts – morning and evening.

    Paper 1 for B.E/B.Tech has a total of 90 questions, out of which candidates need to attempt 75 questions. The paper is divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 30 questions in each section. Out of the 30 questions in each subject, 20 are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 10 are numerical value type questions.

    Paper 2A for B.Arch has a total of 100 questions, and Paper 2B for B.Planning has a total of 100 questions. Both papers have three sections – Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test. Candidates need to attempt all the questions in Paper 2.The duration of Paper 1 is 3 hours, while the duration of Paper 2A and 2B is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

    JEE Mains 2025 Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for JEE Mains 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Nationality: Indian nationals are eligible to apply. International applicants must have obtained the required marks as stated by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
    • Qualification: Candidates must have qualified their 12th level examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
    • Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for JEE Mains 2025.
    • Attempt Limit: There is no attempt limit to apply for JEE Mains 2025.
    • Appearing: Candidates appearing in the qualifying JEE Mains exam in 2025 will also be eligible to apply.
    • State Code of Eligibility: To be eligible for JEE Mains 2025, students must fill the state code of eligibility, which will not depend on their native place or residence. The state code of eligibility will be determined by the state in which they have qualified their intermediate exams.

    For Indian nationals passing their 12th in foreign countries, the state code of eligibility will be determined according to their permanent address mentioned in their passports.

    • Eligibility for Institutions: For admission in B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses in IIITs, CFTIs, NITs, and other prestigious institutions, students must have qualified their 12th level examination with specific subjects:
    • B.E/B.Tech: Passed 12th with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/technical vocational subjects.
    • B.Arch: Passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
    • B.Plan: Passed 12th with Mathematics.

    For admission through CSAB counselling in these institutions, candidates appearing in JEE Mains 2025 must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in 12th level (65% for ST/SC) or be in the top 20 percentile in 12th conducted by respective boards.
