Five levels of ecology
There are five levels of ecology:
Organism
Population
Community
Ecosystem
Biosphere
1. Organism: The smallest level of ecology is the organism. This is the level of the individual living thing.
2. Population: The next level up is the population. A population is a group of organisms of the same species that live in the same area and interact with one another.
3. Community: The next level up is the community. A community is a group of populations of different species that live in the same area and interact with one another.
4. Ecosystem: The next level up is the ecosystem. An ecosystem is a group of communities that live in the same area and interact with each other.
5. Biosphere: The highest level of ecology is the biosphere. The biosphere is the entire planet Earth and all of its living things.
