plant-life-cycle
A plant’s life cycle begins with a seed. The seed is planted in the ground and it grows into a plant. The plant grows leaves and flowers. The flowers turn into fruit. The fruit ripens and the seeds inside the fruit grow into new plants.
Alternation of Generations
The alternation of generations is a process that occurs in eukaryotic cells. This process is responsible for the generation of new cells and the continuation of life. The alternation of generations begins with the process of meiosis. Meiosis is the process in which the genetic material in a cell is divided in half. This process results in the creation of four genetically diverse daughter cells. These daughter cells then undergo mitosis, which is the process of cell division. This process results in the creation of two genetically identical daughter cells. These daughter cells then mature and become reproductive cells. The process of meiosis and mitosis is repeated to produce new cells.
