Solution:
Larvae or silkworms produce silk.Silk is a fine, strong, soft, shining fibre that silkworms or larvae produce to make cocoons. It is a natural fibre obtained from an insect called the silk moth. Therefore, silk is an animal fibre. This silk fibre is made of protein. The protein fibre of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and is produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons. This soft-looking silk yarn is as strong as a similar thread of steel. The silk fibres are converted into silk yarn used to make silk cloth. The process of rearing silkworms to obtain silk is called Sericulture.
